THE RUPPERT FOUNDATION
With this engaging digital platform, we set
out to bring you on a journey to Rio de Janeiro while capturing the passion and energy filling
the sails of Geoffrey Ruppert's 2016
Olympic Sailing campaign.
THE SAIL RIO PROJECT TELLS A STORY OF:
When Geoffrey came to Vibrancy to create his campaign, we immediately sensed his raw enthusiasm and knowledge of sailing. With this website, we attempted to capture those feelings and convey them to his audience through beautiful and engaging imagery and design.
Essentially, the goal of this platform was to build support for his campaign and drive donations. Most campaign websites try to do this through stock templates and long paragraphs of text.
Our approach was different.
VISUALLY RICH, EASY TO READ, AND A REAL WINDOW INTO GEOFFREY'S EXCITING WORLD OF SAILING
We combined electric custom photography
of Geoffrey with beautiful videos and textures like wooden planks from a dock to create a
truly unique digital experience. Rather than
just tell the audience about Geoffrey, we crafted a story that informed and invoked anticipation for the exciting road ahead. With all of our projects at Vibrancy, we strive to create
an emotional connection between our
client and their audience.
THE WEBSITE IS TRULY CROSS-PLATFORM, WITH CAREFULLY CRAFTED TABLET AND MOBILE EXPERIENCES THAT ENGAGE
One of our favorite aspects of the website is the Contribute page. Rather than simply list out the four different tiers of donations, we illustrated them through a medal system signified by color and imagery. Each tier from gold to iron, was accompanied by three rewards, like the chance to ride on the coach boat or be flown out to the experience the games in Rio.
THE THEMES OF AMERICAN PRIDE AND RAW SAILING ARE WOVEN INTO THE FABRIC OF THE WEBSITE
To express American pride throughout the website, subtle American colors and imagery were incorporated into the design, from
the red, white and blue hamburger
menu icon to the photos of Geoffrey
draped in our flag.
We really enjoyed working with Geoffrey to create his sailing campaign for the 2016 Summer Olympics. It was a chance for us to apply our passion for design and storytelling to a space we had not recently explored. We are thrilled with the final result and invite you experience it for yourself. See you in Rio!
